Youth at work: a webinar series for evidence-based policy making on youth employment in Africa
The Youth Employment portfolio of the Dutch Knowledge Platform on Inclusive Development Policies (INCLUDE) will host a Webinars Series to promote evidence-based policy-making, experts’ knowledge sharing and good practices on youth employment in Africa. The Webinar Series will explore the challenges and opportunities of six aspects of youth employment: digitalization & future of work; employment in the rural economy; youth employment in crises and conflict; policies and government actions for youth employment; and youth employment in the green economy.
Each webinar will put one evidence synthesis paper commissioned by INCLUDE in the spotlight. The evidence synthesis papers are the outcome of the fruitful partnership ‘Boosting decent employment for Africa’s youth’, consisting of INCLUDE Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the International Labour Organization (ILO), under the aegis of the Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth.
The webinars will bring youth, researchers, experts, practitioners and policy makers at the discussion table. After a brief presentation from the authors of the evidence synthesis papers and experts on the topic, the floor will be opened to a Q&A and a semi structured discussion.
The objective of the webinar series is to facilitate knowledge sharing and to continuously build a community of practice on this pertinent topic.
