Is it too late to avoid a "pandemic scar" on youth?

26 October 2021 - 26 October 2021

How can we recover better and protect everyone's human rights? The end of the pandemic may now be in sight, at least in some parts of the world. But its effects on young people will last well beyond it - the pandemic impacted young people disproportionately, causing unemployment, poor education and mental health issues, as shown in the recently-released report of the European Youth Forum: “Beyond lockdown: the pandemic scar on young people”.

Join the discussion 'Is it too late to avoid a ‘pandemic scar’ on youth?' on Tuesday 26 October at 15h CET to find out more about the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on youth rights and discuss the next steps with young people and policy makers. Under the umbrella of the YouthForesight knowledge facility, co-hosted by the Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth and Generation Unlimited, the European Youth Forum and the ILO are co-organising this webinar to address what can be done to avoid a lifelong ‘pandemic scar’ on young people.

Agenda:

  • Welcome and introduction
  • Presentation of the Beyond Lockdown report by the European Youth Forum
  • Discussion between panelists from SOS Children’s Villages, Plan International and Generation Unlimited
  • Q&A

The speakers will soon be announced.

This event will be livestreamed. The link will be shared closer to the date.

You will be able to send questions through Slido - the link to the page will be shared closed to the date.

The registration is open until October 26th at 10h CET.
