XR EXPO: Extended Reality Solutions for Skills Development

01 December 2021 - 02 December 2021

SESSION OUTLINE & SPEAKERS

Session I: Immersive technologies are here to stay. But understanding the potential and the limits of XR for skills development is key in order to better shape the education and training opportunities of both the youth and adults. The first session will address XR & the future of learning from a critical perspective, discussing the advantages and potential of using immersive technologies in career guidance, learning and training performance and assessment (both in classrooms and at the workplace). It will also discuss how this will be implemented in the so called “Metaverse” where TVET and Skills Development will need to find its place.

Session II: The introduction of augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR) allows young and adult learners to experience education and training in more engaging and immersive ways. The second live session of our event will discuss how to include XR in the design and delivery of skills development programmes, particularly as a tool to develop both technical and non-technical skills for a variety of target groups and taking into consideration context-specific needs.
