The ILO series of Masterclasses “The SKILLS Bridge” on Mar 30, 2022, brings together experts from different countries to share the most tested and effective practices and innovative approaches adopted in equipping people with the skills and qualifications needed to succeed in today’s and tomorrow’s world of work.

In collaboration with the State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovation (SERI) Switzerland, EP1 of the "The SKILLS Bridge" Masterclasses will discuss success factors of the dual VET system in Switzerland, including:

1. Attractiveness of dual VET / apprenticeships and enabling factors: from a systemic perspective – from a company perspective – from an individual perspective;
2. VET learning in different settings: the necessity of coordination and cooperation between learning locations – variations for the organisation of dual VET - the operational challenges and advantages for a company – the pedagogy of dual VET – new approaches to facilitate coordination;
3. Work-based learning as an essential means to acquire transversal competences: importance for companies - efficiency – role of transversal competences as a basis for LLL.
