HIGHLIGHTS

  • Enhanced policy coordination, social dialogue and partnership at planning, design and implementation stages and well-developed and sound national and sectoral policies that increase relevance of skills development to green jobs can help to propel a just transition
  • Systems for identifying and anticipating skills needs for green jobs can benefit from improved labour market information and institutionalized social dialogue
  • Mainstreaming the green transition through TVET and lifelong learning systems will increase the chance of advancing a just transition
  • Initial education for young people as well as continuing training for adult workers and job seekers should target specific green jobs and sectors, be inclusive and prioritize the skills needs of vulnerable groups
