What is it?

This report portrays a new generation of Europeans, optimistic and resolute in facing the current crisis and in overcoming other global challenges, like climate change. It investigated young EU citizens' opnions about a set of key issues and future challenges for the EU such as democracy, human rights, gender equality, economy and jobs, sustainability and digital economy.

HIGHLIGHTS

The report employs data collected through different opnion surveys conducted between November 2019 and June 2021. By looking at these data, this research investigates young Europeans' opnions about the EU, while tracing a portrait of the pandemic's effects on this population. The scope of the research is that of builindg a comparative assessment of the pandemic's consequences and of young peple's view of the EU taking into consideration. The analysis proposed offers food for thought for a wider consideration of what being a young European in 2021 means, whether a unique European yout really exists and, if so, what are the main concerns of this young generatino of citizens and how the EU can respond to them.
